Are you curious about trying Recreational Tree Climbing? Group Climbs are a great first step to see if you will enjoy the treetops. We do all the set up, supply all the gear and get you (ages 8 - 70) up into the tree canopy in a safe and empowering way, using a tried and true method created by Tree Climbers International. TCI-trained facilitators have helped over 750,000 people climb using this technique without a single injury.

Group Climbs are the perfect adventure for double dates, birthdays, family reunions, church groups, summer camps, office groups, team-building, school groups and more.

The base rate for a local group climb (two hours, four people) is $150 and $25 for each person over that, up to 11 people. Some exceptions can be made for maximum participants. Contact us for more information.

Locations

We currently have two locations for group climbs, both located in/near White Salmon, WA.

Town
The town location is in the heart of White Salmon, at an old White Oak that we like to call Clara. This location is easy and accessible for everyone, but is in a more residential area.

Forest
The forest location is in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, on the edge of White Salmon city limits. Though slightly out of town and a little less accessible for those with physical challenges, at this beautiful forest site you will have a more “wild” climbing experience. Come on out and meet Jose, the tree we climb at our forest location.

Available for participants age 8-70, all minors need parent or guardian signature

Upper Canopy Exploration

Upper Canopy Exploration
Tree Climbing Cascadia, LLC Sasquatch logo

Canopy exploration is for the more adventurous folks looking to push themselves to new heights. These climbs will bring you to the tops of some of the tallest trees around, whether it's a tree on your property or one of our host trees. See how the world looks when staring down at the tops of trees and feel the tree sway as the wind blows in your face.

Upper canopy explorations can look pretty different depending on whether you want to climb a huge oak tree and swing amongst the branches or prefer to ascend a fir tree and see how high you can get. Call us and we'll work with your vision and figure out the best tree for you.

We set up the ropes and gear. You will learn how the gear and knots work, and how to adjust and set your back up safety tie-ins.

Contact us for price quotes. Upper canopy explorations can vary dramatically depending of location and number of climbers.

1-5 climbers at a time, all minors need parent or guardian accompaniment and signature

Single Rope Technique (SRT) Canopy Climb

Prerequisite: No Climbing Experience needed, but you must pass a low climbing test before climbing the full heights.

The Single Rope climbing technique is faster and more efficient when climbing taller trees and relies on mechanical devices sometimes combined with knots. During this three hour adventure we will utilize the SRT technique to climb 90 feet up into the top of a beautiful Douglas Fir tree named Shua.  You will learn the basics of how this system works, our safety protocol, and then be climbing in the treetops before you know it.

If you are afraid of heights you probably will not enjoy this climb, please consider trying a Group Climb event instead.

$90/person
Minimum two participants, with a maximum of four
This group climb is currently only offered in the forest location, mentioned on the Group Climbs page.

Old Growth Climbs

Prerequisite: Basic Climbing Course or Upper Canopy Climb, or Pass Climbing Assessment Test

Climbing Old Growth is the height of the tree climbing experience. The wind, feeling the tree sway and looking down on all those tiny 150 foot trees, is like no other experience on Earth. Though an experience everyone should have on their bucket list, you must be prepared and committed as we plan and charge far ahead for our tri-annual old growth climbs.  Climbing 200 feet into the forest canopy takes a bit of skill and endurance so we require you to have taken one of our previous climbing courses before participating.

These climbs are announced throughout the spring/summer and are filled by advance registration.
Contact us to be included on our Old Growth contact list.

No minors allowed, adults 18 and over only

Educational Presentations

Educational Presentations
Tree Climbing Cascadia, LLC Sasquatch logo

We offer educational presentations for universities, local schools, naturalist groups and more. Most of our lives have been spent working in and around trees and forests, and we love to share some enlightening knowledge we've picked up here and there over the years. Educational presentations can manifest in a number of ways; an ecology hike through an ancient forest, a presentation on the diversity and difference of the forest canopy to the forest floor, or a slideshow of climbing some of the largest trees in the Pacific Northwest.

What do you want to learn? Contact us with your ideas and let us make a presentation to suit your needs.
