There are so many ways to climb trees it would be mind-boggling to name them all here. Though it may seem overwhelming to learn tree climbing with ropes, we break it all down to the techniques you need to learn. We teach in personal or small group classes that give you tons of hands on experience and make you comfortable enough to go home and try it yourself.

 • Preparation
 • Anchoring your climbing line
 • Knots
 • Double Rope Technique (DRT), an arborist climbing technique
 • Traversing through the canopy

Advanced Climbing Course

The basic course focused mostly on climbing knots; this will focus more on mechanical devices and what situations and techniques work best for each.

Single Rope Technique (SRT) Canopy Climb

Prerequisite: No Climbing Experience needed, but you must pass a low climbing test before climbing the full heights.

The Single Rope climbing technique is faster and more efficient when climbing taller trees and relies on mechanical devices sometimes combined with knots. During this three hour adventure we will utilize the SRT technique to climb 90 feet up into the top of a beautiful Douglas Fir tree named Shua.  You will learn the basics of how this system works, our safety protocol, and then be climbing in the treetops before you know it.

If you are afraid of heights you probably will not enjoy this climb, please consider trying a Group Climb event instead.

Minimum two participants, with a maximum of four
This group climb is currently only offered in the forest location, mentioned on the Group Climbs page.

minimum age — 13
